Regulatory context

From September 1st, 2026, your B2B invoices must go through a French Approved Platform.

The French e-invoicing reform requires all VAT-registered companies to transmit their B2B invoices via a DGFiP-approved platform (Plateforme Agréée, PA). The rollout schedule depends on company size.

Reception - all companies

All VAT-registered companies, regardless of size, must be able to receive their electronic invoices through an Approved Platform.

September 1st, 2026

Emission - large enterprises & mid-caps

Large enterprises (GE) and mid-caps (ETI) must emit their B2B invoices in structured electronic format from this date.

September 1st, 2027

Emission - SMBs & micro-businesses

SMBs and micro-businesses (PME/TPE) join the emission obligation. This is the largest volume of the French Magento B2B market.

Is Gatebold a French Approved Platform (Plateforme Agréée)?
No. Gatebold is not an Approved Platform (Plateforme Agréée, PA) in the DGFiP sense. Gatebold is a DGFiP-Compatible Solution dedicated to merchants on Magento / Adobe Commerce: our role is to bridge the Magento store and the merchant's chosen Approved Platform. Concretely, Gatebold ships a native Magento connector and a SaaS platform that extracts invoices emitted from Magento, formats them to DGFiP standards (Factur-X, UBL), then transmits them to the PA. The PA is then responsible for the regulatory relay to the DGFiP and to the recipient's PA.
Do I have to use an Approved Platform from September 1st, 2026?
Yes. All VAT-registered companies in France must be able to receive their electronic invoices through an Approved Platform from September 1st, 2026, regardless of company size. Reception is a universal obligation from that date.
Am I concerned by the emission obligation in 2026 or 2027?
It depends on the size of your company. Large enterprises (GE) and mid-caps (ETI) must emit their B2B invoices in structured electronic format from September 1st, 2026. SMBs and micro-businesses (PME/TPE) have an additional year, until September 1st, 2027. In both cases, emission must go through an Approved Platform.
I already have an ERP managing my invoicing. Is Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway useful for me?
If your ERP emits and stores your legal invoices, the ERP is what should interface with your Approved Platform. I don't have an accounting ERP. Is that a problem for the reform?
No. Many B2B merchants on Magento emit their invoices directly from Magento Sales / Invoice. This is precisely the target of Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway: extract the invoice emitted by Magento, format it to DGFiP standards (Factur-X or UBL), and transmit it to your Approved Platform.
How will I receive my supplier invoices?
Reception of your supplier invoices is handled by your Approved Platform's portal itself, or by your accounting software if it is connected to your PA. Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway only handles the emission of invoices from Magento, not reception.
What is the difference between Gatebold E-Procurement Gateway and Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway?
They are two independent products. E-Procurement Gateway connects your Magento catalog to your enterprise clients' procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement, Jaggaer, etc.) via PunchOut cXML and OCI. E-Invoice Gateway connects invoicing emitted from your Magento to a French Approved Platform to address the French e-invoicing reform. You can use one, the other, or both.
How much will Gatebold E-Invoice Gateway cost?
